I initially bought a TP-15, as I've been getting into the "reverse sear" method of cooking steaks. So the TP-15 worked great, it was quick, easy to read, and a good value. The lady who cleans my house was also interested in learning how to prepare meat this way, so I decided to give her my TP-15 and upgrade to the TP-16S, because I really liked the fact that I could leave the probe in and shut the oven door. You're slow cooking the steak at 250 degrees to reach your desired internal temperature (in my case 130 degrees), so the fact that I didn't have to keep opening the oven door seemed like a great plan. So she comes over, I've got a 12 oz filet, coated with sea salt and pepper on both sides, I get it to room temp and we put it in. once it hits 127-128, you pull that sucker out and then do your searing in a cast-iron skillet (you can search the web for specific instructions). It worked perfectly, and while we were going to split the steak and she'd go home with her 6 oz., she ended up eating the whole thing while she was here! So she's happy with her TP-15 (with the 3-year extended warranty), and I'm happy with my TP-16S (with the extended 3-year warranty)! I can't wait to tackle a standing rib roast for the next holiday with this thermometer. I will recommend it to everyone but my ex-wife!!
350 F reading on a cold steak !

1.0 out of 5.0 by Anoosh Ghajar on May 3, 2019
The probe worked great for 4 bbq sessions. I followed the operating and probe washing instructions every session. Now 20 seconds after inserting the probe into the cold steak I just took out of the frig it reads it at 350 F and the alarm goes off! It lasted only a week despite following their manual instructions. Useless probe.
ThermoPro Works as Advertised!

5.0 out of 5.0 by LunarSwifty on May 26, 2019
I’m very happy with this ThermoPro because it’s easy to use. I like the preset temperature settings, but I also like how easy it is to set my own settings. I’ve used it when air-frying steaks to medium rare, and most recently I’ve used it while making yogurt. I like to stir the milk at different intervals, and this Thermometer beeps at when the temperature reaches the set time I entered. I do recommend this one for the value, the features, the convenience, and the price.
Well made and got accurate readings

4.0 out of 5.0 by MadMax on April 19, 2019
This unit is easy to set up and operate and can be turned off. Very easy to read. The probe is fairly long and the cable is also long enough for most situations with a grill (have not used it in an oven yet). I used it for a pork tenderloin, set to 130. When it reached that temperature, I checked it with a digital thermometer and got the same reading. Then, with a Beef Tenderloin to 130 and same thing. Reading was spot on. I don't know why you can't remove and reinsert the probe during cooking, according to the directions, because how do you turn over meat? it is very inconvenient over a hot grill. They included a 10% off discount code for future Amazon purchases. It didn't work.
Too complicated

It’s a good thermometer but a little hard to use. Selecting a picture of the meat type and then setting the temperature is cumbersome and confusing. I think I prefer a simpler one where I just set the desired temp and go. Also, I wish there was a good way to store the cord on the unit- a place to wrap it nicely.I like that it’s magnetic and has a lighted display. I believe it’s accurate with the temperature. Probably wouldn’t buy this one again.
Pretty good, EXCEPT probe design......curved

4.0 out of 5.0 by Vicki of CA on May 27, 2019
Love that this can sit on countertop or be magnetically attached to the outside of oven. Seems to work well so far, but not as user friendly as others I have had and instructions are sorely lacking for specificity. The ONE design flaw to me is the curved probe (long, straight design FAR SUPERIOR). Curve makes probe not quite long enough since I use it frequently/mostly on LARGE, thick cuts like Prime Rib roasts and TRI TIP, and needs to hit the center of meat.

First time I used this thermometer I ruined a beautiful 1 1/2 inch Porterhouse on a gas grill. Had the probe inserted directly in the center per the instructions and it kept reading 74 degrees. After a while I said to myself: this isn't right as it was taking way too long... Used my old instant read stick thermometer and sure enough the center was over 140 degrees. I tried it again in the oven for a reverse sear and this time it worked fine. Learning from my first mistake, I only use my old stick thermometer for the final sear in the iron skillet as this thing doesn't seem to work well when you need a quick reading and it's easy to overcook the meat if you are shooting for that perfect 130 degrees medium rare sweet spot.
Accurate and easy to use

This is easy to use. It is fast and accurate with temperature.I use mainly on a outside grill and appreciate the light and easy to read numbersBeing using a short time but it is one of my favorite tools for being sure that I am grilling to the time and temperature that I want. I would buy another one for my kitchen.
