the vacuum is still high maintenance, but for what I paid for it, I'm sad to say that when I am vacuuming and I pull back the vacuum, the handle detaches... over and over and over and over. I can't pull it back for 2 seconds without it separating the hose (thus the handle) from the body of the vacuum. the only way to use it successfully, for now, is to pull it back by the cord or by the lower part of the vaccum, around the power button. I'll have to put some velcro along the handle and body so that it stays together and so that i can still use the hose interchangeably with the floor function.
I love the suction power and ease of handling. I recently became a dog owner and now between the dog hair and my long hair, my current vacuum could not keep up. My son has a Dyson vacuum for 6 years now with no issues which was a deciding factor for me to go ahead and spent the extra money. It is definitely worth the money!
I love DYSON
I had this vacuum when it first came out. Ex got it with the divorce. I am so glad to have found it at an affordable price. Def. Worth the buy.I have 3 German shepards and have been using a basic vacuum until I received this one. Had to dump it after only vacuuming a small section of my carpet due to all the hair! This vacuum is a lifesaver and I 100% recommend it for anyone with pets and/or allergies
Sometimes this happens when you buy used or as is from the warehouse
I bought this “as is” and I couldn’t even use it. It was so used, still dirty from another persons home and had been tossed into a box and sent out with no type of protection around it.
This machine didn't do as good of a job as my 10 year old Shark.
We used it on one of my carpets then we vacuumed the same carpet with my Shark. It pulled a full container of dirt from the carpet. The Dyson wasn't even at max full.
After exactly 60 days there was no suction and the warranty had run out
Did not receive all of the parts. The handle piece is missing
A Plastic Lover's dream
If you love plastic, you'll love the Dyson Animal. Everything on it is plastic so pieces break constantly. If you bump it into something (quite possible while using it) a random piece will break off. If you use the extension release (made of plastic) eventually it will break. While I was trying to the extension release today, the spring for it popped out. While trying to hold the spring and the extension release at the same time, the handle fell over about 6 inches and broke. It was a great vacuum at the beginning, but when its plastic expiration timer goes off, be prepared to have it break constantly by simply just using it.
