Inferior Product. No Returns Accepted. You Have Been Forewarned.
I order a ton of stuff throught Amazon. This is my FIRST ever 1 star review. When this arrived, I still had a teaspoon of my "other" brand, but this was a couple soars cheaper. Since I had a little bit left of my prior brand, I decided I'd compare the "new" brand to my old brand, side by side.I dipped a teeny tiny (1/8th of a 1/8th teaspoon) into each brand. My old brand was insanely sweet.. almost overpowering (therefore it took a tiny amount to use).I trated 1/8th of a 1/8th teaspoon of the this brand. NOTHING!I am going to have to use 4 to 8 times as much composted to my old brand. One last thing. My old brand was "pure" white. This new stuff is off colored next to my old brand.I tried to submit a return on this stuff.. NO RETURNS ACCEPTED.Yep.. I saved a couple dollars, for #&@%!
Rare Single-Ingredient Stevia; Best Tasting & Non-Clumping
Label readers will discover that Now Foods' Better Stevia is an ultra-rare stevia product iteration in that organic stevia is its lone ingredient: None of the typical fillers, fibers, or carb-boosting sugar alcohols (see: erythritol) so often used to dilute this plant-derived, zero calorie, zero glycemic index sweetener. More closely resembling powdered sugar than granulated, it also differs among powdered stevia extracts by dissolving in real-time -- no clumping -- with little of the backbite often attributed to stevia's taste. The Nutritional Facts labeling on this gargantuan vat estimates there are "About 10,089 servings per container," lowering its price to $2.80/ounce from the $8.75/ounce of Now Foods' 1-ounce Stevia. It's not often that a best-in-class product is presented at the best value, but this is that product. - (Was this of use? The best deal going on stevia
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Well I think this is the best deal going on stevia. I made a another video because the first one was showing showing the little green packets as I measured out this and those packets into a teaspoons. Don't get me wrong I don't want to diss other brands and their stevia is good plus packets are convenient for taking out places or traveling but the Now product I use about half the volume to get the same amount of sweetness and it's less bitter. I think all Stevia has got some bitter aftertaste but this is the least bitter. I'm on my second 1lb container of this stevia and I have to say it lasts a long time according to Amazon my last purchase lasted a little over 5 years. FYI I am single so don't use a whole lot just 2 cups of coffee per day and some ice tea in summer. The salt shaker in the video I said last a few weeks but actually it probably lasts something like a month.Btw it might seem a little counterintuitive to using zero calorie sweetener but I use a little bit of agave or honey with my stevia and the natural sweetness covers the bitterness of stevia. I think the bitterness comes because stevia doesn't hit all your taste buds the same way sugar does.
Very unhappy w/this - the suds are a bonus I guess
I have been using pure stevia for a few years. I couldn't find my usual brand (CCnature) the day I went to order so I ordered this instead.Of COURSE I ordered the 16oz size. When will I learn.. What a colossal disappointment. Not ONLY do I have to use 2x or 3x as much as I did w/my other brand, but this product makes what looks like suds in my glass. I am not kidding. I typically put some stevia in bottom of a large stainless travel mug that I use every day - then add some water from fridge door unit. I swish it around to blend the stevia - then add some ice - then fill to the top w/water and add lemon. I am not kidding folks, there is what looks like sudsy foam on the top of the water. (I will see if I can figure out how to add a picture to this). I have been drinking this since whenever I bought it and am still alive so I'm guessing it's not toxic.. I also use it in coffee and the sudsy foam does not appear. Perhaps it has to do w/the distance the water is traveling (from the opening on my fridge water dispenser) to the bottom of the cup - idk. And it does dissipate after a couple of minutes. No suds in the coffee. I just can't bring myself to throw a $50 purchase in the trash. The flavor of this product is okay. Using 2 to 3x as much PLUS the unidentified foam is a dealbreaker though. The best I can say for this purchase is that the plastic container the POUND unit comes in is awesome. If you don't believe me, well - purchase the smallest size offered - and let the buyer beware.
PRODUCT OF CHINA
PRODUCT OF CHINA!!!If you don't mind your food/sweeteners from China, then this stevia is for you. But if YOU DO NOT want to consume your food or sweeteners from China STAY CLEAR of this product. It says it right on the label "Product of China". Say no more...
I have used most every form of stevia, as a Type 1 diabetic since childhood.. getting away completely from all other kinds of non-sugar sweeteners. The concentrated pure powder form is the best of the kinds available, requiring a very tiny amount for average sweetness. Not so good to bake with for some reason, but baked products aren't good for a diabetic either for the most part, so no biggie for me. The stevia with added ingredients to make it bulkier is best for baking.I get one of these twice a year, so even though cost seems high, it 's really not. I tried one of the other 'pure stevia' powder that are advertised as a pound, and they are used up within a much shorter time, not sure why. This is the best, never trying another brand again!
Not as sweet as others.
I found it to be considerably less sweet than the other pure extracts I purchased in the past. It's also much more granulated, which is actually very good. The others are really fine powders, like flour and fly everywhere if you are not careful. However, that comes at the expense of sweetness. Not a trade-off I'm willing to take for the price. I would say, it would have to be 50% of It's current price, at most, to be worthy.
You only need a little....and stevia has a taste you have to get used to.
For people who drink a lot of coffee, tea, etc and worry about the sweetners on the market as far as safety goes, this is for you. You can buy stevia packaged like splenda or sweet & low, but it's much more expensive that way. This is your best "bulk" way to purchase stevia I have found.
Great value for a great product
I've been using this brand of stevia for iced tea/oatmeal, etc for years. Buying in the large bulk size makes it half the price as buying in smaller containers. Wish I'd discovered this about 5 years ago...
Pure stevia, unlike most products described as stevia
This is 100% stevia. Most stevia products on the market are adulterated with other sweeteners, many of which have health issues.
